Ableton's Live 10 Suite production software is a smart investment if you want to work with the very latest technology Ableton have to offer. It has everything the Intro and Standard editions have and much, much more. The basic functionality is virtually identical but Suite enables you to use more tracks, more virtual instruments, more audio effects and packs. If you're a live performer, you'll surely appreciate the principle behind this DAW. You're essentially constructing audio from MIDI and/or audio data blocks, and then performing those constructions live by switching high-level on or off with a separately-available Ableton controller, for instance. Live 10 is a powerful DAW with plenty of possibilities, also for producers of more mainstream music.
What's new in Ableton Live 10 Suite
In terms of new features and improvements, the group tracks have been improved and there is more depth for a better overview in larger arrangements. Capture is a new feature which intuitively records your ideas and improvisations before you even push the record button! Tech-lovers will appreciate Max for , which is a comprehensive modular system for making your own devices. The list of audio and MIDI effects is enormous, and new packs like Drum Essentials, Chop and Swing and Skitter are sure to wow any modern-day producer. Drum Buss and Utility are new effects that allow you to adjust gain, fase and stereo width. Ableton is een prachtig programma. Zelfs een beginner als ik kan er snel mee aan de slag. De Suite-versie beschikt over een ruime hoeveelheid drums, instrumenten en effecten. Kost wel wat, maar ik hoef voorlopig niets bij te kopen.
Live Suite kun je downloaden via de website van Ableton. Bij Bax koop je een activatiecode, die je per mail geleverd krijgt. Helaas ging 't bij mij met de levering van de activatiecode mis. Heb er een week op moeten wachten, terwijl de voorraadindicatie aangaf dat het aanwezig was. Als je snel aan de slag wilt, kun je Live Suite beter via de site van Ableton zelf kopen.

Na het plaatsen van de bestelling had ik een 6-tal uurtjes erna de productcode in mijn mailbox. Het is logisch dat dit niet direct kan aangezien Bax als tussenpersoon fungeert en bovendien wordt dit ook duidelijk vermeld dat dit enige tijd kan duren. Wat mij betreft is dit perfect en uitermate vlot verlopen.
Product:
Na al wat jaren als producer heb ik verschillende DAWs gebruikt, elk heeft hierbij zijn voor en nadelen maar tot heden blijf ik trouw aan Ableton aangezien dit het beste mijn workflow complementeert. Welke DAW je beter ligt is een persoonlijke keuze die best te vergelijken is met het kiezen tussen android of apple. Ongeacht, Ableton is zeer veelzijdig in gebruik en kan zowel tijdens het producen als live gebruikt worden. De suite versie geeft bovendien ook toegang tot Max For Life. Behalve de grote community waar synths, audio en midi fx gratis te verkrijgen zijn, kan je met dit platform ook zelf nieuwe plugins maken. De enige limitatie hierbij is je eigen verbeelding. Tot slot geeft de suite versie ook toegang tot een grote hoeveelheid Ableton packs. Deze packs zijn van dermate goede kwaliteit en zeer gevarieerd waardoor producen nagenoeg mogelijk is met enkel Ableton samples en plugins.
